Food Safety Drive Intensifies Ahead of Festive Season
With the onset of the festive season, the District Administration Thoubal has intensified surveillance and enforcement drive to curb food adulteration and ensure consumers across the district have anaccess to safe, wholesome and pure food products.
In order to safeguard the public health, Food Safety Administration (FSA) Thoubal, under the supervision of the District Administration has been conducting series of special festival drive inspecting shops, hotels, manufacturing units, retail and wholesale outlets operating in the Thoubal district.
FSA Thoubal team are monitoring food quality standards, with priority on checking expiry of food products, unapproved chemical adulteration, spurious manufacturing or the supply of sub-standard food products.
For the Food Business Operators (FBOs), emphasis is being laid on proper manufacturing practices, licensing, hygienic practices, sanitary kitchen conditions, proper food handling, quality of raw ingredients and proper storage standards.
Meanwhile, the FSA Thoubal team has urged the FBOs to cooperate by upholding food safety and hygiene standards while selling, distributing, storing and preparing food items along with compliance with regulations.
