Heavy rains have triggered flash floods that have washed away sections of the road in the remote Miyar Valley, cutting off access to the village of Chowkhang Naingar in Himachal Pradesh.
Heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours has caused flash floods in the Miyar Valley of Lahaul‑Spiti, washing away parts of the main road that connects the remote village of Chowkhang Naingar to the rest of the district.\n\nThe sudden surge of water has left the village isolated, with residents unable to reach nearby health centres or markets.\n\nLocal authorities have dispatched teams to assess the damage and are coordinating with the Himachal Pradesh Disaster Management Authority to clear debris and restore traffic. Temporary bridges are being set up while permanent repairs are planned.\n\nThe state government has urged residents to stay indoors and has set up a helpline for those needing assistance.\n\nExperts warn that the region remains vulnerable to further flooding until the monsoon season subsides.
