Farmers’ Association Urges Basic Facilities for Somnmaradi Government School Near Jalahalli
Somnmaradi, Oct. 1: The Karnataka State Farmers’ Association (Regd.), Somnmaradi Village Unit, submitted a memorandum to the Gram Panchayat Development Officer, urging the authorities to provide essential basic facilities at the Government Model Higher Primary School in Somnmaradi village of Arakera taluk, Raichur district.
More than 407 students are studying at the school. As there is no adequate drinking water facility, the association has urged the authorities to install an RO water purification plant to provide students with safe and clean drinking water.
The association also pointed out that the school compound wall has collapsed and the toilets require repairs. It further demanded the installation of a high-mast light on the school premises. For the safety of the school campus, the wire fencing in front of the main entrance should also be raised by another three feet, the memorandum stated.
The farmers’ association leaders said that providing the necessary basic infrastructure is the responsibility of the Gram Panchayat, keeping in mind the safety of students and the need for a proper educational environment. They urged the concerned authorities to take immediate action.
Village Unit President Shivanna Lingadalli, Taluk Vice-President Hussain Basha, and leaders Shantamurthy Swamy, Thimmaiah Vakrani, Hanumayya Yelagatti, Ramesh Halubavi, Maunesh Yadav, Hanumayya Hosur, along with Prantha Raitha Sangha leaders Vishwanath Angadi and Balappa, were present.
