On September 11, a senior pilgrim from Ludhiana who got separated at the Golden Temple boarded a train to Bihar and reached Gaya after AI pinpointed his native village.
Chaman Lal, an elderly resident of Ludhiana, joined a state‑sponsored pilgrimage bus on September 11 that travelled to the Golden Temple in Amritsar. While at the shrine he lost contact with his companions and, unable to locate them, made his way to the nearby railway station.
At the station he purchased a ticket for a train bound for Bihar, hoping to return home. Railway officials later confirmed that he boarded the Gaya‑bound service and travelled without incident.
Local volunteers used an artificial‑intelligence tool to trace his hometown based on limited details, enabling relatives in Bihar to be alerted. The AI‑derived address helped the pilgrim’s family arrange his reception upon arrival in Gaya.
