The Enforcement Directorate raided ten locations across Delhi‑NCR, Haryana and Punjab as part of an investigation into alleged tax evasion involving imported liquor.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out coordinated raids at ten premises spread across Delhi‑NCR, Haryana and Punjab on Tuesday. The operation targeted warehouses, distribution centres and related offices suspected of facilitating tax evasion in the imported liquor trade.

According to a statement released by the agency, the raids were part of a broader probe into alleged violations of customs and excise duties on high‑value alcoholic beverages brought into the country. Investigators focused on documentation, accounting records and shipment manifests to determine the extent of revenue loss.

ED officials seized a range of documents and electronic devices, but no arrests were reported at the time of the operation. The agency said the evidence collected will be examined further and appropriate legal action will follow based on the findings.

The crackdown underscores the government's heightened scrutiny of illicit financial practices in the liquor sector, a market that contributes significantly to state revenues through excise taxes.
