The education departments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have released the Dussehra vacation schedule for 2026, specifying the start and end dates as well as the day schools will reopen.
The education ministries of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh issued an official circular outlining the school holiday calendar for the 2026 Dussehra festival. The notice confirms that schools in both states will observe a break coinciding with the festival period and provides the exact dates for the start of the vacation and the day of reopening.
In Telangana, the holiday will begin on the day Dussehra is celebrated and schools are slated to resume classes after the festival, as detailed in the state’s education department bulletin. Andhra Pradesh has issued a similar schedule, aligning its school break with the regional observance of Dussehra and indicating the reopening date in the same circular.
The announcements are intended to help parents, students and teachers plan travel, study schedules and other activities well in advance. By synchronising the school calendar with the traditional festival, the two states aim to minimise disruption to academic programmes while respecting cultural celebrations.
