The Arunachal Pradesh Disaster Authority has warned of heightened landslide danger in Tawang following recent heavy rains, urging caution and travel restrictions.
The Arunachal Pradesh Disaster Authority (DA) has issued a fresh advisory alerting residents and travelers to an increased landslide threat in the Tawang district after a spell of heavy rainfall destabilised the hilly terrain.
Authorities have asked the public to avoid non‑essential travel on mountain roads, particularly the NH‑13 corridor, and to stay alert for early warning signs such as cracks in the ground or sudden water flow. Local administration has deployed rescue teams, set up monitoring stations and is coordinating with the state meteorological department.
Meteorological data indicate that slope instability remains high in the region. Residents are advised to keep emergency kits ready, follow official instructions and report any unusual ground movement immediately. No casualties or property damage have been reported so far.
