Actor‑director Dev Ramnath revealed that his upcoming film with actress Rukmini Vasanth will explore a coming‑of‑age friendship story.

Dev Ramnath, the Bengaluru‑based actor and filmmaker known for his work in regional cinema, has confirmed that he is co‑producing a new feature film with Kannada actress Rukmini Vasanth. The project, still untitled, is positioned as a coming‑of‑age drama that centers on the evolving bond between two young friends.

Speaking to Cinema Express, Ramnath described the narrative as a slice‑of‑life story that captures the nuances of friendship during the transitional years of adolescence. He emphasized that the film will avoid melodramatic tropes, opting instead for a realistic portrayal of hopes, insecurities, and the moments that define youthful relationships.

Rukmini Vasanth, who rose to prominence after her acclaimed performance in the Kannada hit "Mahira", will play one half of the central duo. Both artists said the collaboration stems from a shared interest in character‑driven storytelling and a desire to present relatable, youth‑focused content to Indian audiences.

Production is slated to begin later this year, with shooting locations expected to include urban and semi‑rural settings in Karnataka. While a release date has not been announced, the team aims for a theatrical launch in 2025, targeting both regional and pan‑Indian markets.
