Several Delhi schools have moved to virtual classrooms and a number of colleges have postponed upcoming exams as authorities brace for a large-scale protest scheduled for October 10.

Delhi's education department announced that a cluster of schools in the capital will conduct classes online from Monday, citing security concerns surrounding the planned mass protest on October 10. The shift to virtual learning applies to both government‑run and private institutions that serve students from primary to senior secondary levels.

In parallel, several colleges under the University of Delhi and affiliated private institutions have deferred their semester‑end examinations originally slated for the first week of October. Administrators said the postponement aims to avoid disruptions and ensure the safety of students and staff during the anticipated demonstrations.

The protest, organized by a coalition of student groups, is expected to draw thousands to key locations across Delhi, including the Parliament House and major university campuses. Police have deployed additional personnel and set up temporary barriers, while the education authorities have urged students to cooperate with the online schedule and remain vigilant.

Student representatives expressed mixed reactions; some welcomed the online shift as a precaution, while others worried about the impact on academic timelines. Parents, meanwhile, have been advised to monitor the situation closely and support the temporary learning arrangements.
