Schools in several districts of Andhra Pradesh were shut today as Cyclone Murasu approaches, prompting a statewide holiday.
Schools across multiple districts in Andhra Pradesh were closed today in response to the approaching Cyclone Murasu. The state’s education authorities issued a directive to suspend classes, ensuring the safety of students and staff. The decision was taken after meteorological reports indicated the cyclone’s path would bring strong winds and heavy rainfall to the region.
The closure covers both government and private institutions, with a notice circulated to all school districts. Parents and guardians were advised to keep their children indoors and follow official updates. The state’s transport and health departments are coordinating to provide necessary support during the period of suspension.
Officials have urged teachers to use the downtime for lesson planning and to ensure that any essential school activities are postponed. The closure is expected to last until the cyclone’s impact subsides, after which schools will resume normal operations.
The Andhra Pradesh government has also activated emergency response teams to monitor the cyclone’s progression and to assist affected communities. Parents are encouraged to stay informed through local news outlets and the official weather alerts.
