Meteorological Department has warned that Cyclone Arnab is expected to bring heavy rainfall to districts along the north coast of Andhra Pradesh.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning that Cyclone Arnab is likely to bring heavy rainfall to the north‑coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh.

The cyclone, currently tracking along the Bay of Bengal, is projected to intensify as it approaches the coastline. IMD officials have identified districts such as Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, and Srikakulam as the most vulnerable to rainfall and potential flooding.

Local authorities have been advised to prepare for possible waterlogging and to keep emergency services on standby. Residents in the affected areas are urged to stay updated through official weather bulletins and to take precautionary measures.

The warning comes as part of the department’s routine monitoring of tropical disturbances in the region, aiming to mitigate damage and safeguard communities.
