KC Venugopal arrived in Chandigarh on Monday to gauge the Punjab Congress's cohesion before Rahul Gandhi's planned visit.
KC Venugopal, the national general secretary (organisation) of the Indian National Congress, reached Chandigarh on Monday, marking a preparatory step ahead of senior leader Rahul Gandhi's anticipated tour of Punjab.
His visit is aimed at assessing the internal dynamics and unity of the state unit, sources said, as the party seeks to consolidate its position ahead of upcoming elections.
Venugopal is expected to meet local party officials, discuss strategies, and address any factional issues, according to party insiders.
The move comes as the Congress attempts to revive its foothold in Punjab, where it has faced setbacks in recent state elections.
No official schedule for Rahul Gandhi's visit has been released, but Venugopal's presence signals the leadership's focus on rebuilding cohesion within the Punjab Congress.
