Seven days after a Ganga river boat crash that killed 13 children, families in Raghopur are demanding the chief minister’s visit.
Earlier this week, a boat on the Ganga river in Raghopur, Muzaffarpur district, capsized, killing 13 children and leaving several others injured. The tragedy has shocked the local community and drawn national attention to safety lapses on the river.
Despite the scale of the loss, the chief minister of Bihar, Shreeraj Chaudhary, has not yet visited the affected village. Families of the victims, many of whom are still grieving, have expressed frustration that the state’s top official has not come to offer condolences or assess the situation on the ground.
Akhilesh Kumar, a relative of one of the deceased, publicly criticised the CM for the delay, stating that a visit would provide a sense of closure and demonstrate government accountability.
No official statement has been released regarding the chief minister’s schedule, and the families continue to press for an immediate visit and a thorough investigation into the causes of the accident.
