Chief Minister Omar Abdullah praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for announcing a Rs 475.41 crore programme to modernise Industrial Training Institutes in Jammu and Kashmir.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah publicly thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the central government unveiled a Rs 475.41 crore plan to upgrade Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) throughout Jammu and Kashmir.

The scheme is designed to revamp existing infrastructure, introduce contemporary skill‑based courses and provide modern equipment, thereby enhancing vocational training for the state’s youth.

Abdullah said the investment will significantly boost employment prospects and address skill gaps, aligning with the government's broader agenda of skill development and job creation.

Implementation will be coordinated between the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and the Jammu and Kashmir administration, with the first phase expected to roll out in the upcoming financial year.
