Chhattisgarh Assembly to Adopt NeVA Paperless System Ahead of Budget Session

The Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly has decided to go fully paperless by implementing the NeVA digital platform before the state's budget session. The move, reported by Elets eGov, is part of a broader push to modernise legislative procedures and reduce reliance on physical documents.
NeVA, a cloud‑based solution for document management and workflow automation, will be integrated across all assembly departments. Officials expect faster access to bills, motions and committee reports, as well as significant cost savings on printing and storage.
The transition is slated to begin immediately, with training sessions for legislators and staff scheduled over the next few weeks. By the time the budget is presented, the assembly aims to have all routine paperwork handled electronically, setting a precedent for other state legislatures.
If successful, the initiative could serve as a model for digital governance across India, aligning with national goals of e‑government and environmental sustainability.
