The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has formally lodged a first information report (FIR) as part of a probe into activities linked to camps of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The FIR marks the agency's entry into a case that authorities say warrants a detailed inquiry.
Following the FIR, CBI teams conducted searches at several sites that are reported to be associated with Mann's supporters. The raids were carried out in multiple locations across Punjab, with investigators seizing documents and electronic devices for forensic analysis.
Officials from the CBI declined to disclose the specific nature of the allegations or the evidence gathered, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation. The Punjab government has not issued an official comment on the agency's actions, and the Chief Minister's office has indicated that it will cooperate with the inquiry as required.
