During the BJP’s drug‑free rally in Amritsar, local leader Pandher questioned the campaign’s motives and also criticised the RSS.
The Bharatiya Janata Party organised a "Nasha Mukt Yatra" in Amritsar, aiming to highlight its stance against drug abuse in the region. The rally featured speeches, cultural programmes and distribution of informational material to underscore the party's anti‑narcotics agenda.
Local politician Pandher used the platform to raise concerns about the timing and intent of the yatra, suggesting that the event was being politicised ahead of upcoming elections. He also directed criticism towards the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), alleging that the parent organisation was influencing the campaign's narrative.
Political analysts noted that such intra‑party questioning is not uncommon in Punjab's competitive political landscape, where issues of drug abuse remain highly sensitive. The BJP has not issued a formal response to Pandher's remarks as of now.
