BJP leader Jai Ram said the party will examine the proposal for new districts in Himachal Pradesh only after it secures a mandate in the upcoming election.

Himachal Pradesh – In a recent statement, BJP representative Jai Ram indicated that the party will revisit the state's plan to create additional districts if it forms the government after the forthcoming polls. He emphasized that any decision on the reorganisation of districts will be taken only after the party secures a clear electoral mandate.

The proposal to carve out new districts has been a subject of debate among local administrators and political parties. While supporters argue it could improve governance and service delivery, opponents contend it may strain resources and disrupt existing administrative structures.

Jai Ram did not provide a timeline for the review, but he reiterated the BJP's commitment to addressing local concerns once it is in power. The statement comes ahead of the state assembly elections, where the issue of district reorganisation is expected to feature in campaign discussions.

Election officials have yet to announce the final schedule for voting, and the BJP's stance on the matter will likely be tested as parties vie for voter support across the hilly state.
