The Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority has instructed the deputy collector to undertake restoration work at Varca beach and to recover the associated costs.
Goa's Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) issued a directive to the deputy collector to carry out restoration activities on Varca beach, a popular coastal stretch in South Goa.
The order calls for immediate measures to address erosion and any environmental degradation observed on the shoreline.
GCZMA also mandated that the expenses incurred during the restoration be recovered, though it did not specify the source of recovery.
The authority said the action is part of its ongoing effort to preserve Goa's coastal ecosystems and maintain tourism appeal.
Details on the implementation timeline and the agencies involved were not disclosed at the time of the announcement.
