Bihar to Pay Flood‑Stricken Farmers Compensation Before Durga Puja

The Bihar government will disburse compensation to farmers who lost crops in recent floods before Durga Puja, after Agriculture Minister Vijay Sinha ordered an accelerated damage survey. An initial survey covering 18 districts has already been completed.
The state government of Bihar announced that compensation will be released to farmers whose crops were destroyed by recent floods, with the payout scheduled before the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations.
Agriculture Minister Vijay Sinha instructed the department to complete a rapid damage assessment, urging officials to finish the survey within days so that relief can be processed promptly.
According to the minister, an initial field survey covering 18 districts has already been concluded, providing a basis for calculating the amount of aid each affected farmer will receive.
The move is part of Bihar's broader effort to mitigate the economic impact of the monsoon floods that inundated large parts of northern Bihar earlier this year.
