Bihar Floods Continue to Haunt Residents Even After Waters Recede

The recent monsoon‑driven floods in Bihar have begun to subside, but the retreat of water has not signalled the end of the crisis. Across the flood‑prone districts, standing water remains in low‑lying fields and streets, creating pockets of water‑logging that impede movement and agricultural recovery.

Health officials warn that stagnant water can become a breeding ground for water‑borne diseases, prompting local authorities to intensify sanitation drives and distribute clean‑water kits.
