The Bihar Education Department has introduced fresh regulations governing the conduct and duties of teachers, non‑teaching staff and students in state‑run schools.

The Education Department of Bihar has rolled out a set of fresh regulations aimed at standardising the responsibilities and conduct of personnel and learners in government‑run schools. The guidelines cover three main groups – teaching staff, non‑teaching employees and the student body – and outline expectations regarding attendance, discipline, and professional duties.

According to the department, the move seeks to enhance the overall quality of education by ensuring that teachers adhere to prescribed teaching norms, support staff follow administrative protocols, and students observe behavioural standards. The regulations also emphasise accountability, with provisions for periodic monitoring and corrective action where necessary.

The department has circulated the new rules to all district education offices and instructed school heads to implement them from the date of receipt. Officials have urged schools to conduct orientation sessions so that teachers, staff and students understand the revised expectations and can comply without disruption.
