Bihar’s Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary announced today a special financial package aimed at teachers and support staff employed in the state’s non‑financial schools and colleges. The grant, amounting to ₹461 crore, was disclosed during a press briefing held in Patna.
The funding is intended to bridge salary shortfalls and improve working conditions for the teaching fraternity in institutions that do not receive regular state budget allocations. By channeling the money directly to the concerned schools and colleges, the government hopes to enhance retention and morale among educators.
Implementation details will be handled by the Department of Education, which will issue guidelines on disbursement procedures in the coming weeks. Officials expect the grant to be fully allocated within the current fiscal year, providing immediate financial relief to thousands of staff members.
