The Bihar School Examination Board has begun transferring grant amounts directly to the bank accounts of non‑teaching personnel in secondary and higher secondary schools through RTGS, aiming for greater transparency.
The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has started disbursing financial grants to non‑teaching staff of government‑run secondary and higher secondary schools directly into their bank accounts using the Real‑Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system. This method replaces earlier manual or cheque‑based payments, ensuring that the funds reach beneficiaries promptly.
According to the board, the move is intended to enhance transparency and reduce delays in the payment process. By routing money through RTGS, the board can track each transaction in real time, minimizing the risk of misappropriation and providing clear audit trails.
The initiative aligns with broader efforts by the state education department to modernise financial management and improve the welfare of school personnel. Officials indicated that similar electronic payment mechanisms are being considered for teachers and other staff categories in the near future.
