Bidar Court Sentences Accused Under POCSO and IPC Charges
Bidar: In 2023, an incident occurred at the M.G.S.S.K factory laborers' hut in Hunaji village under Bhalki Rural Police Station jurisdiction. The case was registered under FIR No. 75/2026 involving sections 366, 376(2)(n) IPC and sections 4 and 6 of the POCSO Act, 2012 by ASI Suresh Gowli. The investigation was conducted meticulously by Inspector Gurupada S. Biradar, who submitted the charge sheet to the competent court.
The Special C Case No. 1256/2023 was heard at the Additional District and Sessions Court, Bidar, where Judge B.K. Komal sentenced the accused to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 30,000. Special Public Prosecutor Santosh Kumar presented the prosecution's case diligently. Commendations were given to Inspector Gurupada S. Biradar, Investigation Assistant Sharanappa Hunaje, Court Officer Sharanappa Shivgonda, Bhalki Rural Police Station staff, and Special Public Prosecutor Santosh Kumar for their disciplined efforts.
The police operations aimed at delivering strict punishment and ensuring a crime-free district will continue under the supervision of Pradeep Gunti, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Bidar district.
