Hospitals in Bhopal have been instructed to stay on high alert for firecracker‑related injuries during Diwali, and JP Hospital is setting up an eight‑bed burn unit.

Diwali celebrations across India often see a rise in firecracker‑related injuries, prompting health authorities to issue precautionary directives. In Bhopal, officials have warned all city hospitals to remain vigilant and ready to treat burn and trauma cases throughout the festival period.

The directive specifically calls for rapid triage, adequate staffing, and ready availability of emergency supplies to handle any surge in patients. Hospital administrators have been asked to monitor local reports of accidents and coordinate with emergency services for swift response.

JP Hospital, a major private facility in the city, is responding by establishing a dedicated burn unit equipped with eight beds. The unit will be staffed by specialists trained in burn care and will operate alongside existing emergency services to provide focused treatment for fire‑related injuries. This preparation aims to reduce complications and improve recovery outcomes for victims of Diwali fireworks incidents.
