Bear attacks two farmers in Verafali, Sirohi district; 75‑year‑old critically injured

A bear entered a maize field in Verafali village of Sirohi district and mauled two farmers, leaving a 75‑year‑old and a 40‑year‑old seriously hurt and taken to hospital.
Sirohi district's Nichlagarh Gram Panchayat, in the village of Verafali, witnessed a rare wildlife incident on a maize field. A bear, reportedly drawn by the crop, charged at two men who were working the land.
The victims were identified as 75‑year‑old Bhera Garasia and 40‑year‑old Gama Garasia. Both sustained serious injuries; the elder farmer's condition was described as critical, while the younger farmer was also hospitalized for extensive treatment.
Local authorities were alerted immediately, and the injured were rushed to the nearest medical facility. Forest officials have been called to assess the situation and to implement measures to prevent further encounters in the area.
