During Thursday morning rush hour, traffic on Barapulla Elevated Road Phase‑3, linking Sarai Kale Khan to Mayur Vihar, stalled for 1.5 hours, disrupting east‑to‑south Delhi commutes.

On Thursday morning, vehicles surged onto Barapulla Elevated Road Phase‑3, causing a traffic jam that lasted for approximately one and a half hours during peak hours. The elevated corridor, designed to ease travel between Sarai Kale Khan and Mayur Vihar, was unable to handle the sudden influx of traffic. Commuters heading south from eastern Delhi reported significant delays, with some vehicles stranded on the elevated road for extended periods. Traffic police have increased patrols on the stretch and are monitoring the situation to prevent further congestion.
