On Ekadashi, the Mahakaleshwar Bhasma Aarti in Ujjain featured Baba Mahakal decorated with a Vaishnav tilak, a silver crown and a mundmala, attracting a large gathering of devotees.

Ujjain's Mahakaleshwar Temple hosted its annual Bhasma Aarti on Ekadashi, marking a distinctive visual ceremony. The idol of Baba Mahakal was specially adorned with a Vaishnav tilak, a gleaming silver crown and a traditional mundmala, a departure from the usual decor.

The embellishment drew an unusually high turnout, with devotees converging from across the city and neighboring regions to witness the ritual. Attendees observed the aarti with reverence, chanting prayers as the sanctified ash was offered.

Temple officials noted that the special adornments were intended to celebrate the auspicious Ekadashi occasion, emphasizing devotion and cultural heritage. The event proceeded without any reported disruptions, maintaining the solemn atmosphere characteristic of the shrine.

Security and crowd-management measures were in place to ensure smooth movement of the large gathering, and the temple's priest led the aarti according to traditional protocols.

The Mahakaleshwar Bhasma Aarti continues to be a focal point of spiritual activity in Madhya Pradesh, reinforcing Ujjain's status as a major pilgrimage centre.
