Baba Garibnath Temple in Muzaffarpur Hosts Grand Mahashringar on Bhadrapad Dwitiya

On Sunday night, the Baba Garibnath shrine in Muzaffarpur was adorned with flowers, lamps and colored powders after a Panchamrit bath, as devotees gathered for a special Mahashringar and Maha Aarti.
The historic Baba Garibnath temple in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, observed a special Mahashringar ceremony on the evening of Bhadrapad Krishna Paksha Dwitiya, which fell on Sunday. The event was part of the temple’s traditional observances and attracted a large gathering of worshippers.
Priests performed a ritual Panchamrit bath, immersing the deity’s idol in a mixture of milk, curd, honey, ghee and sugar. Following the bath, the idol was decked with vibrant flower garlands, colorful abir and gulal, and numerous oil lamps, creating a striking visual display.
Devotees filled the courtyard, chanting “Jai Garibnath” and raising their voices in unison as the Maha Aarti concluded the ceremony. The atmosphere was charged with reverence and festive energy, reflecting the deep cultural significance of the occasion for the local community.
