Avengers: Endgame Reclaims Top Spot on Global Box‑Office, Overtakes Avatar

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame has reclaimed the No. 1 position on the all‑time global box‑office ranking, overtaking James Cameron’s Avatar. The shift reflects the latest accounting of worldwide grosses, which now places the 2019 superhero epic ahead of the long‑standing record holder.
Avengers: Endgame, which debuted in April 2019, originally held the top spot before being surpassed by Avatar in 2010. Recent re‑releases and updated revenue figures have pushed its cumulative total past the Australian‑directed film’s adjusted earnings.
Industry analysts note that the change underscores the enduring popularity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and highlights how box‑office tallies can evolve with new market data and ancillary screenings.
The Hollywood Reporter’s report does not cite a specific new total, but the ranking adjustment is being widely reported across entertainment news outlets.
The new standing reaffirms the film’s cultural impact and its role in shaping modern blockbuster economics.
