The Chief Minister announced that all households in Arunachal Pradesh are now connected to electricity, completing the state’s electrification drive.
The Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh confirmed that the state has attained complete household electrification, a milestone in its rural development agenda. The achievement follows years of concerted efforts under central and state schemes aimed at extending power infrastructure to remote and hilly regions. Officials said that the remaining technical work involves upgrading distribution networks and ensuring reliable supply across all villages. The government plans to focus next on improving the quality of power and promoting renewable energy solutions to sustain the gains. The announcement was made during a briefing with local officials and stakeholders, who hailed the accomplishment as a significant step toward socio‑economic progress.
The electrification drive, backed by central funding and state implementation, targeted over 70,000 households in the state’s mountainous terrain. By connecting the last unserved villages, the program has removed a critical barrier to education, health services and small‑scale entrepreneurship. Residents now expect better access to digital services and increased productivity.
The CM emphasized that continued maintenance and community participation will be essential to keep the power lines operational, especially during the monsoon season. He also called for additional investments in solar and mini‑hydro projects to complement the grid and reduce dependence on external power sources.
