Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the 'Campus Connect' initiative in Navi Mumbai to combat drug abuse among students.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis officially launched the 'Campus Connect' campaign on Thursday in Navi Mumbai. The programme is designed to address the growing concern of drug abuse on college and school campuses across the state.

During the inauguration, the CM highlighted the need for early intervention and awareness among young people. He announced that the campaign will involve a series of outreach activities, including informational sessions, counseling support and collaboration with educational institutions.

State officials said the initiative will be coordinated by the Health and Education departments, with resources earmarked for training teachers and peer mentors. The goal is to create a sustainable network that can identify at‑risk students and provide timely assistance.

The launch event was attended by local administrators, school principals and representatives of youth groups, underscoring the multi‑stakeholder approach envisioned for the campaign.

Authorities expect the 'Campus Connect' model to be replicated in other districts if it proves effective in curbing drug‑related incidents among students.
