The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh emphasized that dependable telecommunications should be treated as a basic service rather than a luxury, underscoring its importance for the state's development.

New Delhi – In a recent statement, the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh highlighted that reliable telecommunications infrastructure is a fundamental right, not a luxury amenity. He stressed that consistent connectivity is crucial for education, healthcare, commerce, and emergency response across the hilly state.

The Governor pointed out that many remote villages still face frequent network outages, which hampers digital inclusion and economic growth. He urged both the central and state governments to prioritize the expansion of robust telecom networks, especially in border and underserved areas.

He also called on telecom operators to upgrade existing towers and invest in newer technologies such as 5G and satellite-based services to ensure uninterrupted coverage. The statement aligns with the broader national agenda of bridging the digital divide and enhancing connectivity in India's North‑East region.

The governor's remarks come ahead of upcoming policy reviews on telecom infrastructure funding, signaling a push for faster implementation of projects aimed at improving service reliability for residents of Arunachal Pradesh.
