Andhra Pradesh held its municipal elections today with 150,000 security and election officials deployed to maintain order and ensure a peaceful voting process.
The state conducted municipal elections across more than 1,200 local bodies on Tuesday, with the Election Commission overseeing the process.
To guarantee a calm environment, 150,000 personnel including police, paramilitary and election staff were deployed at polling stations.
The move follows recent concerns over electoral violence in some districts, and the state government has urged voters to exercise their right peacefully.
Early reports indicate that voting has proceeded without major incidents, with polling stations operating from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
