The Andhra Pradesh government has announced a school holiday for six districts tomorrow in preparation for the approaching Cyclone Murasu.
The state government of Andhra Pradesh has ordered a school holiday for six districts effective tomorrow as Cyclone Murasu approaches the coast.
The affected districts—Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, Kakinada, Eluru, and West Godavari—will see all primary and secondary schools closed to safeguard students and staff.
Officials said the decision follows meteorological warnings that predict heavy rainfall, strong winds, and potential storm surges in the region.
Parents and teachers have been advised to keep children indoors and to monitor updates from the Andhra Pradesh Meteorological Department.
The government has also urged local authorities to ensure that emergency services remain operational and that evacuation plans are ready if the cyclone intensifies.
