Police in Andhra Pradesh confirmed that a teenage girl was assaulted with a chainsaw by her uncle, who had been harassing her under the pretext of love.
Police investigations in Andhra Pradesh have identified the assailant in a recent chainsaw attack on a teenage girl as her own uncle. According to officials, the uncle had been repeatedly harassing the victim, claiming his actions were motivated by love.
The victim sustained injuries after the uncle used a chainsaw during the assault. Law enforcement officials said the attack appeared to be an escalation of the prior harassment, and the perpetrator has been taken into custody.
Authorities are now probing the motive behind the violent act and have opened a criminal case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The investigation aims to determine whether the alleged "love" claim was a pretext for abuse.
The police have urged the public to report any similar instances of familial harassment and assured that such crimes will be pursued rigorously.
Further details will be released as the case progresses through the judicial system.
