The Andhra Pradesh government announced plans to use digital tools and smart solutions to showcase its tourist destinations and enhance visitor experience.

The state government of Andhra Pradesh has unveiled a new initiative aimed at leveraging technology to market its tourism assets. The plan, disclosed in a statement to the media, outlines the deployment of digital platforms, interactive maps, and augmented reality experiences at key attractions.
Officials say the move seeks to attract both domestic and international travelers by providing real‑time information, virtual tours, and personalized itineraries through mobile applications. The technology rollout will initially focus on popular sites such as the Tirupati temple complex, the historic city of Vijayawada, and the coastal resorts of Visakhapatnam.
The tourism department will collaborate with private tech firms and startups to develop the required infrastructure, including Wi‑Fi hotspots, QR‑code guided tours, and data‑driven marketing campaigns. The initiative aligns with the state's broader goal of boosting tourism revenue and creating jobs in the service sector.
The project is slated to begin pilot testing later this year, with a full‑scale launch expected in 2025. Authorities will monitor visitor feedback and usage metrics to refine the digital offerings.
