The state tourism department announced that reservations for helicopter rides to Kedarnath between 16 October and 9 November will commence today.
The Uttarakhand tourism authority confirmed that the online reservation window for helicopter services to Kedarnath has been opened today. The schedule covers the pilgrimage window from 16 October to 9 November, a period that traditionally sees a surge in pilgrim traffic to the shrine.
Travelers can book seats through the official state tourism portal or authorized travel agents. The helicopter service, operated by the state’s aviation department, aims to reduce road congestion and provide a faster, safer alternative for devotees and tourists.
Authorities have urged passengers to book early, as the limited number of daily flights is expected to fill quickly. The service will operate from Dehradun’s Jolly Grant Airport, with multiple daily trips to the Kedarnath base camp, weather permitting.
Safety protocols, including mandatory helmets and weight restrictions, will be enforced. The tourism department also reminded travelers to carry valid identity proof and to adhere to the pilgrimage guidelines issued for the season.
