The Andhra Pradesh High Court has permitted construction of the Google‑Adani data centre to proceed, placing all liability on the developer.
The Andhra Pradesh High Court ruled that work on the joint Google‑Adani data centre can continue, but any liabilities arising from the project will be shouldered by the developer.
The decision followed a petition that questioned land‑use permissions and environmental clearances. The court noted that the venture already holds the requisite approvals and that halting construction could inflict unnecessary financial losses.
In its order, the bench emphasized that the developer must assume all risks, including any regulatory or civil liabilities, while the court will keep a watch on compliance.
The data centre, part of Google’s expansion strategy in India and built in partnership with the Adani Group, is expected to enhance cloud‑service capacity and bolster digital infrastructure in the region.
