The Mohali municipal corporation has confirmed that all households in the Nayagaon area will be supplied with temporary water connections as part of an immediate relief effort. The decision comes after residents raised concerns over irregular water supply and pending infrastructure work.
Officials said the temporary connections will be installed within the next few weeks, ensuring uninterrupted water access while permanent pipelines are being upgraded. A dedicated committee, comprising engineers and local administrators, will be constituted within days to monitor progress, address grievances, and coordinate with water‑utility teams.
The scheme is being funded through the municipal budget and aims to alleviate daily hardships for the roughly 5,000 families residing in Nayagaon. Authorities have urged residents to register their premises at the nearest ward office to expedite the connection process.
