Student activist Abhishek Singh of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organised a demonstration on the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus, demanding an overhaul of the existing security arrangements.
The protestors highlighted a series of recent incidents that they described as repeated harassment and alleged lapses in campus safety, urging university authorities to adopt stricter measures.
ABVP representatives also voiced apprehension about the presence of “external elements” operating within the university, suggesting that such influences could destabilise the academic environment.
University officials have not yet issued an official response, and the situation remains under close observation by local law‑enforcement agencies.
