31st Annual Jatra Mahotsava of Sri Utkanooru Tatanavaru Concludes at Hosuru Siddapur

Thousands of devotees participate in religious and cultural programmes

JALAHALLI, Oct. 8: The two-day 31st Jatra Mahotsava and Mahadasoha of Sri Utkanooru Tatanavaru concluded successfully at Hosuru Siddapur village in Devadurga taluk amid devotion and celebrations.

The annual festival, which has been held continuously for the past 31 years, witnessed the participation of thousands of devotees from Hosuru Siddapur and surrounding villages. Devotees offered special prayers and sought the blessings of Sri Maribasavalinga Tatanavaru at the sacred Gadde. Religious programmes, bhajans, cultural events and Mahadasoha were organised as part of the Jatra.

Special Pooja and Overnight Akhanda Bhajana

On the first day of the Jatra, October 7, a special pooja was performed at the Gadde of Sri Maribasavalinga Tatanavaru in the evening. This was followed by an overnight Akhanda Bhajana, in which Bhajana Mandalis from different villages and local devotees participated.

From early morning until afternoon, Bhajana Mandalis and devotees from various villages continued the devotional singing. The atmosphere remained spiritually vibrant as devotees remembered Tatanavaru through devotional songs and bhajans.

Gaanasudha Programme Becomes Special Attraction

The Gaanasudha programme held on the evening of October 7 was one of the major attractions of the Jatra. Shivalingayya Swamy Galaga, Nagaraj Erundi and Eerayya Tata Jalahalli entertained devotees and villagers with devotional songs and musical performances.

A large number of devotees attended the programme, adding further colour and enthusiasm to the Jatra celebrations.

Youth Display Enthusiasm in Rural Sports Competitions

On October 8, a sandbag lifting competition was organised. Muddukappa Nayak of Masarkal village secured first place and received a 5-tola silver bracelet as the prize. Sabanna Karigudda won second place and received a cash prize of ₹2,500.

In the stone-lifting competition, Pratap Nayak of Nagaladoddi in Raichur taluk secured first place by lifting a 118-kg stone and received a 5-tola silver bracelet. Anju Nayak of Devadurga secured second place and received a cash prize of ₹2,500.

The competitions were organised to encourage traditional rural sports. Young participants enthusiastically displayed their physical strength and skills, while a large number of villagers and devotees gathered to witness the events.

Devotees Participate in Mahadasoha

As part of the Jatra Mahotsava, Mahadasoha was organised, where devotees and villagers participated and received prasada.

With special pooja, Akhanda Bhajana, Gaanasudha, Mahadasoha and rural sports competitions held over two days, the 31st Jatra Mahotsava of Sri Utkanooru Tatanavaru concluded successfully in an atmosphere of devotion, joy and celebration.
