During Navratri, roughly 31,000 girls gathered at 151 venues across Ujjain to perform worship rituals.
Ujjain, a historic city in Madhya Pradesh, saw an extensive Navratri celebration as about 31,000 girls participated in worship across 151 different locations. The gatherings were spread over temples, community halls and open spaces, allowing large numbers of young devotees to observe the festival together.
The participation of girls in such numbers underscores the cultural emphasis on involving youth in traditional rituals during Navratri, a nine‑night festival dedicated to the goddess Durga. Organisers coordinated the events to ensure smooth movement between sites and adherence to local customs.
The figures were reported by Dainik Jagran MP CG, highlighting the scale of the celebration in the region. No incidents or disruptions were noted, and the festivities proceeded in line with the city’s usual Navratri observances.
