Zen Technologies today unveiled India's inaugural high‑altitude anti‑drone defense system, marking a milestone in domestic aerial security technology.
Zen Technologies, a Bengaluru‑based defense tech firm, announced the launch of its high‑altitude anti‑drone system at a press event in New Delhi on Tuesday. The system is designed to detect, track and neutralise hostile drones operating at altitudes up to 15,000 feet.
According to company officials, the technology integrates advanced radar, electro‑optical sensors and a directed‑energy weapon to intercept drones before they reach critical airspace. The system is said to be fully indigenously developed, with 70% of components sourced from Indian suppliers.
Defence analysts note that the system could enhance the Indian Armed Forces’ ability to counter the growing threat of low‑cost commercial drones used in asymmetric warfare. The company plans to conduct field trials with the Indian Air Force later this year.
Zen Technologies has already secured preliminary interest from several state governments and private security firms. The company said it will seek government approval for mass production and deployment across key military installations.
