Zee5 Relaunches with AI‑Powered Personalisation, Free ‘Free 5’ Tier and New Hollywood Premieres in India
Zee5 has unveiled a revamped platform featuring AI‑driven search, smart personalisation, a free ‘Free 5’ section and a slate of Hollywood premieres, aiming to enhance viewing across mobile and connected TV.
Zee5, one of India's leading domestic video‑streaming platforms, has launched a major revamp designed to lift content discovery and viewing experiences to a new level. The updated service is organised into five distinct sections – Premium Entertainment, Free 5, KidZ, TV and Sports – and is available on both mobile devices and connected televisions.
The core of the overhaul is an AI‑based search and personalisation engine that tailors recommendations to individual user preferences and enables seamless switching between small‑screen mobiles and large‑screen TVs. An AI‑driven customer‑support assistant now resolves subscription, playback, login, content and device issues within seconds, while advanced privacy and security measures protect user data.
Zee5 has also expanded its content library, securing digital broadcast rights for the FIFA World Cup 2026 and 2030, as well as live streams of Bundesliga, Serie A and Coppa Italia matches. Through a partnership with Inox Pictures and Lionsgate Play, the platform will debut several high‑profile Hollywood titles, including "Normal" starring Bob Odenkirk and Lena Headey, "The Invite" with Seth Rogen and Penelope Cruz, "Anxious People" and "Babies" featuring Angelina Jolie, "The Wizard of the Cremlyn" starring Jude Law, "How to Make a Killing" by Glen Powell, "Tony" by Dominic Sessa, and "Paper Tiger" starring Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver.
The newly introduced Free 5 tier offers completely free access to popular series, movies, Korean and Chinese dramas, anime, live news, micro‑dramas and digital creator content, providing advertisers with a broad audience reach without any subscription fee.
Speaking about the launch, Tej Karan Singh Bajaj, Zee5 India’s Head of AI & Innovation Business, said, "Our primary goal is to make entertainment more discoverable and easier to access. By leveraging AI and smart personalisation, we have reshaped the user experience on both mobile and TV, offering premium content in seven languages and an enhanced Free 5 offering." CTO Pramod Prakash added, "The app is designed to be intuitive for every generation in a household, ensuring smooth technology operation for continuous entertainment." Zee5 now serves viewers in over 190 countries and remains a preferred streaming destination for Indian audiences in seven major languages, including Kannada.
