A bear attacked a young man in the village of Kokasara, Kalahandi district of Odisha, leaving him with serious injuries, officials said.
A bear entered a residential area of Kokasara village in Kalahandi district on Tuesday and mauled a young man who was walking near his home. The victim, whose age has not been disclosed, sustained multiple injuries and was rushed to the nearest health centre where he was placed under critical care.
Local police and forest officials arrived at the scene shortly after the incident. The bear was later tranquilised and taken away by forest department teams to prevent further danger to villagers.
