Three prominent activists were taken into custody following a march in Delhi, occurring while senior CJP leaders were not present.

Delhi police detained veteran activist Yogendra Yadav, senior lawyer Prashant Bhushan and former AAP member Neha Bora on Saturday after they led a march demanding the release of former Chief Justice of India leaders. The demonstration took place in the capital while the senior CJI figures were not present, according to police statements.

Authorities said the three were held for violating the Delhi Police Act and for allegedly inciting unrest. All three were taken to a police station for questioning and released on bail later in the day.

Opposition parties criticised the arrests, describing them as an attempt to curb dissent against the judiciary.
