Yogendra Upadhyaya Welcomes Western Sydney University Campus Plan for Greater Noida

Uttar Pradesh’s minister for higher education, Yogendra Upadhyaya, publicly welcomed a proposal by Australia’s Western Sydney University to establish a campus in Greater Noida. The announcement was made during a brief interaction with university representatives, underscoring the state’s interest in expanding international educational collaborations.

The proposed campus is expected to offer a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, leveraging Western Sydney University’s curriculum and research strengths. Officials said the initiative could provide local students with access to Australian‑standard education without the need to travel abroad, and may also attract students from neighboring regions.

Upadhyaya indicated that the state government will facilitate necessary clearances and infrastructure support, while the university will conduct feasibility studies and engage with potential industry partners. Both sides agreed to move forward with detailed planning, aiming for a formal agreement later this year.
