The Rajasthan meteorological department has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms in seven districts on Saturday, while Mount Abu recorded a low of 12.8°C.
The state weather office released a yellow alert for thunderstorms on Saturday covering Shri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Alwar and Bharatpur. The alert warns of strong gusts, heavy rain and possible hail in the listed districts.
Meteorologists attributed the unsettled conditions to a western disturbance that moved across the region, bringing scattered showers and drizzle to several parts of Rajasthan. Residents in the affected districts have been advised to stay indoors, secure loose objects and avoid non‑essential travel.
In the hill station of Mount Abu, the same weather system caused temperatures to dip, with the minimum temperature recorded at 12.8°C, marking a notable cold spell for the area. Authorities have urged tourists to dress warmly and take precautions against sudden temperature changes.
